I really hadn't been on the search for a new romance author to read, but in 2012 when both Amazon and Goodreads featured Marie Force in recommendations for me I couldn't resist finding out why. It didn't hurt that the Kindle edition of the book recommended, Maid for Love, the first book in the Gansett Island Series, was only 99 cents! It's difficult to regret that purchase price even if I hadn't cared for the book. As it turned out, I can't regret the cost of that first book or of her remaining eighteen. In one month I read all nineteen books and had added her to the list of authors whose new releases I eagerly awaited. Truthfully, I hadn't read much in the romance genre since the '90s. However, I must have subconsciously wanted to read more happily-ever-after books. Even though her Fatal Series features lots of danger and death and injuries to our hero (Nick) and heroine (Samantha), each installment still ends happily. I'm hard-pressed to think of another contemporary fictional couple who are as perfectly suited as they are. This, of course, does not mean they always agree, just that they truly want what's best for the other always.

UPDATE: It's been over 11 years since I became aware of author/indie-published books with my introduction to Marie Force. I've managed to keep up with her books pretty well, but she is a highly prolific author and I did get behind on a couple of her series.
I had reverted this post to draft form sometime in 2022 but thought I could simply update my reading progress using an export feature of my BookCollector database to keep it current instead.
It is now the beginning of 2024 and I have been catching up on her Gansett Island series and will continue to read through the other series that I got behind on, as well.
