A "Force" To Be Reckoned With

I really wasn't on the search for a new romance author to read, but when both Amazon and Goodreads featured Marie Force in recommendations for me I couldn't resist finding out why. It didn't hurt that the Kindle Edition of the first book recommended, Maid for Love, was only 99 cents! Hard to regret the purchase price even if I didn't care for the book. As it turns out I can't regret the cost of that first book or of her remaining eighteen. In one month I read all nineteen books and have added her to the list of authors whose new releases I eagerly await. Truthfully, I haven't read much in the romance genre since the 90's. Besides the obvious; romance, I must have subconsciously wanted to read happily-ever-after books. Of course, her Fatal Series features lots of danger and death and injuries to our hero (Nick) and heroine (Samantha).  I'm hard-pressed to think of another contemporary fictional couple who are as perfectly suited as they are. This, of course, does not mean they always agree, just that they truly want what's best for the other...um, always.

The books are well written with intelligent dialog, reasonably plausible story lines, estimable characters (like Jack Harrington from the Treading Water Series! *swoon*), steamy chemistry, and close-knit families & friendships. What more could you ask for?

Marie Force currently has three books in the works. You know what I'll be reading when they're published.

Music to My Ears

In the last three months I've gotten some amazing new music. Several of the songs were featured in movies or televisions shows. Some of the music supervisors in the movie & television industry really have talent for choosing GREAT music. The artist names are linked to their Wikipedia pages. Song links are to YouTube videos.

Sweet Sour* (the follow-up to one of my favorite albums, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey.)

El Camino* (I did not think it could be better than Brothers, but I'm rethinking that...it's awesome! Featuring Lonely Boy and Gold on the Ceiling.)

Ceremonials* (really pleased with the quality of the production and Florence's voice is magical!  Featuring Shake It Out and No Light, No Light. )

Scars & Stories* (I read they wrote 70 songs but got it down to the 12 that made it to the album. Amazing! Featuring the single Hearbeat.)

John Gregory
Ride of Your Life (a song I've wanted for quite awhile from the movie, What a Girl Wants.)

Family Tree (was blown away by this song first heard on the Crying Wolf episode {S2E11} of Vampire Diaries.)

We're In This Together (I first heard it on a trailer for The Avengers.)

Nothing Is Sound*
The Beautiful Letdown * (featuring the single, Meant to Live {Rock Band 3}, which is one of my favorite songs of theirs.)

Taylor Swift (featuring The Civil Wars)
Safe & Sound (from the soundtrack for The Hunger Games - a hauntingly beautiful song!)

Vaccine* (featuring the single, Spinning Into Place, I first heard on the Bones episode The Twist in the Twister.)
